SA Dry Tip GPX, a fine fly line!,June 29, 2009
By Zugbugzfrom Avondale, AZ
"I own three of these lines in weights 3, 5 and 6. This line casts wonderfully and loads my Sage Z-Axis rods beautifully. The built-in leader loop is convenient and the line is extremely easy to manage, and shoots easily. The only negative and the reason for the 4 instead of 5 rating is that the tip, which is supposed to be a higher floater than the old GPX, actually begins to sink after only a few casts. In all other regards, this is an absolutely superb fly line in my opinion. No line floats perfectly all the time, but I feel that the line should be better in this regard than the older GPX and it wasn't."

trout bum,March 31, 2009
By Troutbum1957from Trout streams all over the world
"You Can't go wrong with GPX except this new loop is a pain in the neck. I hate loops in my flyline I have always and will always tie my leader to my flyline with a nail knot. I looked forever for a GPX line without the loop and could not find one. I settled for the loop and hate it. I cut the loop off and sealed the tip with UV knot sense and that was that. the line still casts like a dream. But Sci angler should consider us old timers that know how to tie a leader to a flyline and give us an option of a line without a loop and the after A River Runs through it crowd that needs a loop to loop connection"

Great Line,January 20, 2009
By moosaki
"I was pleased with this line. I needed a 6 wt. fwd. to go on my Ross Cimerron reel and Cortland 9.5' rod with a carbon fiber handle and detacheable fighting butt. Both are built for fresh or salt water and I plan to use it both ways. The line is mossy green coloring at the tip and visible green at the back."

Tested at Yellowstone,July 28, 2008

"Just used it for a solid week in Yellowstone, dry-tip was evident in excellent floating ability. loved the willow-tip for stealthy approach. Not all the way sold on line loop technology, alittle bulky coming thru the guides."

used it before, and I will again,July 21, 2008
By flywader
"I have used this line before in fact I 'm replacing the line on reel that has been on for 3 seasons. My old line did not have the loop in it and that makes it even better than before. I would highly recomend this to any angler beginner or seasoned."

GPX Fly Line with Dry Tip 3 weight,March 10, 2008
By OzHeppyfrom Melbourne Australia
"First trials proved very successful. Matched to a Sage 3 weight, this line meet my expecations shooting well and laying down soft presentations. Dry tip appears to work well, time will tell."

Tip actually floats,October 26, 2007
By FlySmithfrom California
"I have used this line for about a dozen days on the water (some warm and some cold days) and the tip floats better than any line I have used in the past. ( I have not used the new Rio line that is twice the price). It also casts and shoots fine, but I have had the occasional tangle. (Probably a lack of skill on my part, but seems to occur more than with older lines I used). I really like not having to tie a nail knot and I like that the tip is a subdued color."

Great Line!,September 17, 2007
By DGinNCfrom NC
"I've been a SA line user for several years and the new GPX with the welded loop and "dry-tip" technology is a great addition to the GPX line. I use the GPX for river smallmouth bass fishing and casting streamers for trout and it performs wonderfully! After trying a few other brands of line on my 6wt, I went back to the SA GPX. It loads my fast action rod wonderfully and casts very well. The new tip seems to float better than any I've tried so far.
Great product!"
