"Drill a 2" hole with a hole saw and slip compass into dash. Tighten locking nut. Install a positive and negative wire from your wiring lighting circuit and your set to go. With todays modern day electronics, this is all the compass one needs. One just can't beat Cabela's pricing. Ritchie Sport Dash Mount Compass works great."

"Small and practical unit for small craft open fishing boat. The new model mounting ring (old modes were threaded & much better) does not lock up as the previous model and is subject to loosing with vibration of boat--- just a quick twist secure a gain but somewhat pain to have to keep a eye on it. Good value for the $$ when mounting space and basic compass navigation is needed."

"Compass display was cocked & unreadable upon receipt. Eventually was able to get in proper position but it did not stay. Was glad I didn't drill a mounting hole. Returned compass & have to pay shipping also?"

"I mounted the Ritchie Sport Dash Mount Compass into the dash of my sit on top kayak. I like the flush mount design and easy installation. However, it has no adjustment to correct for errors in North alignment. I have a plastic rod holder mounted very close to the compass using stainless steel screws and nuts. Maybe this is what caused my compass to be be off by nearly 30 degrees (verified by watching my GPS as I paddled due North). I was able to adjust the compass by positioning a steel screw on the hidden body of the compass with electrical tape."
