transducer bracket,
September 27, 2009
By Hank333
|
"Terrible assembly instructions. Bolts provided were not long enough making assembly more difficult. Sharp edges which need filing. Once assembled it is really handy to use and eliminates concern about re-drilling holes in the transom if the motor or boat turbulence causes the transponder to operate poorly at the original location. Removal of the bracket when launching or landing eliminates concern of damaging the transponder."

"The price is low for a reason. It is a cheap setup. I looked at it and sent it right back. I mounted the transducer permenantly. I suggest you do the same"

Transducer bracket,
August 10, 2009
By EKJohnson
|
"No holes in my boat and no transducer floating away!!! This is easily one of the best fish finder products I have ever purchased. I can move my transducer anywhere on my transom and don't have to worry about making my boat waterproof after driving screws into it to mount it. The clamps make the transducer just as secure too."

Dont be afraid of assembly,

"I read all the review and was worried about putting this thing together. It was not a problem. Works great on my 14' V-hull. I have a Humminbird 565 and I did have to get longer bolts for mounting the transducer. 1/4" carriage bolt. Great Unit!"

Standard Transducer Bracket,
July 29, 2009
By NorthAtlantic
|
"Great product. Sturdy and well constructed. Hooks and throws water while traveling which requires retraction of the bracket to keep water from spraying in the boat. This is easily done thanks to good design and construction, but I would have preferred to be able to leave the transducer down at all times while on the water."

Great Bracket,

By CainB

"Awesome bracket that assembles in minutes. After loosing 2 transducers on my boat(Tracker Tundra) I finally found this bracket and it is perfect. The only thing I would do prior to assembly is to give it a quick sanding because the edges are sharp."

Good product after modifications,
June 30, 2009
By Grnhd
from OK
|
"This bracket appears to be well built. I haven't used it yet but I'm sure it will stay put. I replaced all the nuts and bolts with stainless hardware, which it should have in the first place. Also the directions are pretty much worthless. Just look at the picture on the front of the box and you'll get it. The only time I want a transducer hanging off my boat is when I'm fishing and this should do the trick without having to drill any holes."

Portable Transducer Bracket works great!!,
June 25, 2009
By HappyJack
from Arizona
|
"I bought one for my Portabote. Directions are sketchy but within a few minutes of orienting the pieces around, its easy to fiqure out. The bracket stays put, even at the highest speed, and is very sturdy. I ran the cord through the inside of the bracket. The Lowrance transducer fit without any modifications or extra hardware. I needed a bracket because I didnt want to drill holes in the portabote and I run the trolling motor part of the time (where I used to mount it).
It was exactly what I was looking for."

Too short of a screw,
May 26, 2009
By Hoss4440
from Canada
|
"Excellent product but the screws are too short to mount tranducer to bracket....had to buy longer ones....Also if you havs a short transom boat the bracket is just small enough to fit hull which mens you have to take it off everytime you pull your boat on shore because it won't adjust any smaller.."

Just what I needed,
May 23, 2009
By agunn13

"Bought this as I was adding a Fishmark 320 portable as a locator. The bracket allows me to use the locator like a permanent install in my boat while maintaining it's portability for use in a friends boat or on Canada trips.
Excellent quality and the install was a snap. Never looked at the directions - just a picture of the assembled unit. If you are intuitive at all you will have no problem setting it up."

Instructions Excellent,
May 12, 2009
By Pegaken
from Park Ridge, IL
|
"I read many a review here about bad instructions. I had no problem with assembly. However, I was not in a rush, sat back, read, reviewed the story board, and it assembled itself (just about)! I do agree that this product is very sharp. I took the time to file down the edges so carelessness in the boat doesn’t give me a bad cut. I have not tried this yet. However it looks like it will work. I have an older Hummingbird Portable with a suction cup attachment. Everything lines up properly on the lower support with the bolts provided. They are not stainless steel."

"purchased so I wouldn't have to drill any holes in transom, and works great for that very reason. Although the directions are not very user friendly, and the screws do not fit my hummingbird transducer. I did manage some longer screws at the local hardwear store. Must be careful with sharp edges on brackets."
