Great Hip boots,

"My son and I just returned from 9 days on the Alaskan North Slope hunting caribou. We LIVED in these hip boots and were very happy with their performance, from hiking miles in wet tundra, constantly crossing rivers and streams, sitting out in rain and even snow, these boots kept us dry and comfortable. They are light weight and didn't cause blisters. The lug soles made them effective on slippery dirt and hillsides where a lot of tradtional hip boots soles would have lacked traction.
As other reviewers have mentioned buy them one size bigger than you normally would. I also suggest that you get two sets of insoles so that you can rotate them to dry out."

"I used these in Alaska for hiking and fishing. I found them to very comfortable even on long hikes. I did quite a bit of creek and stream crossings and the lug soles were very nice for getting a good grip. The waders kept me dry and warm. My only concern was that I needed a large size due to my foot size, but I am not tall, and the upper part of the wader was too long for me so I could not get them clipped to my belt to keep them up all the way (even with proper adjustments of the clips)."

"These hips work well when the snow melt is down and the water is a bit warmer.
They work well for keeping you warm when out of the water also.
Shoe size is a bit larger than expected but extra wool socks work around this problem. Just right for smaller stream fishing and walking into a remote spot on the river."

"The hip boots are just what I ordered. I did order them a size larger than my shoe size as some of the reviews I read suggested. They fit perfectly. I received them very quickly. I like them because they are much lighter than all rubber hip boots. They are very easy to pack for a trip. I mainly use them to launch my fishing boat where it is difficult to do without getting wet. Thanks Cabelas for an excellent product and service!"

"These boots are really light weight, which is nice. But the lug-sole boot is extremely flimsy, provides no ankle support, and is very slippery. You're probably better off wading in an old pair of sneakers, unless it's too cold of course. Do yourself a favor and buy the stocking foot version of these hip waders and get a decent pair of wading boots to wear with them instead of taking a chance with this lug-sole version."

"I just received a pair of these insulated hip waders today and was totaly surprised. First of all the package came in 3 days early.
Best of all, they fit perfectly. I ordered a foot size larger as other reviews had recomended and it worked out great. I was scared because a foot size larger would require me to be 6'8" and I'm only 6' which would make the inseam length to be too long. Not so; the inner leg length was perfect. So far Cabela's is 3 for 3. Tomorrow will be the final test when I stand 3 hours in a freezing brook and see how good the insulation is.
Yea.......doesn't everyone up north fish 12 months a year!"
