1/8 ounce jigs,September 18, 2009
By Davdrfrom Kirbyville, Mo
"I have bought these in the past and they are great. Had not made any for several years. Painted the heads brown and put a white eye dot o them, wound them with brown marabou and tonight I caught 10 white bass that probably were from 2 to 2 1/2 pounds apiece. Only used one jig but in the couple hours it took to catch them it was pretty well stripped of marabou.
If you want to tie your own jigs, these are for you. Dave R"

unpainted jig heads,September 10, 2009
By robolt
"I had hoped to find an unpainted 1/2 and 3/4 ounce jighead for live bait but couldn't find any on the web site. Settled for this one with the shank barb which I removed by crushing the lead barb in a vise. Resulted in a slightly lighter jig but it worked well."

Good enough for saltwater fish,July 23, 2009
By Floatfreakfrom Jacksonville, Florida Guide
"I've used these jigs with and without a barb (live bait) and for the price, ya can't beat them.
They are what they are!! Don't go nuts because a hook bent, they're light wire aberdeens. Not some high dollar hook.

Cabela's livebait jigheads,March 30, 2009
By Slickeryfrom Finger Lakes region of NYS
"Cabelas's gives me the opprotunity to buy these. Nobody else has them. The sizes offered are perfect for most applications. I use the 1/16 oz and the 1/32 oz size for the my fishing. They are just right for everything from trout, to muskie. I have even landed my largest bass to date with this particular model jighead and a 3 inch plastic helgramite. The 1/32 oz jigheads are just right for stream trout and small-mouthed panfish. The 1/16 oz model for almost everything else. Try them with a crawfish imitation."

excellent head,March 23, 2009
By rickwv01from WV
"These heads are great, finally found some with a barb on the collar that is big enough to hold a grub in place. I bought the unpainted, the lead shows a smooth pour, no air bubbles. A good sign of a quality head. Uniformity in appearance of the lead, is a sign of proper temperature of the lead and mold on pouring. Give them a try they'll work."

Tuff little Jig Heads,January 6, 2009
By GaryTNfrom Elizabethton,TN
"I've used allot of jigs for Float-N-Fly fishing in the wintertime.Cabela's unpainted,or painted jigheads have the sharpest hooks on them.I never had a fish get off.The 1/16th oz. has a number 4 size hook and I really like that when I'm Float-N-Fly fishing. It's a little less hook for the fish to see. Most manufactures have a size 2 for a 1/16th oz. head which I think is too big.I'f I had a way to show you some of the bass I caught recently on the internet I would, but I can't.Water temp.right now is 47 degrees F.So we keep the boats out year around. Thank's for a great product. Gary L.D."

Good quality,May 27, 2008
By CaptJKfrom San Diego,California
"Nicely made jigheads the only downside for me is I didn't pay attention to the hook strength. I fish San Diego bay for bay bass, orange mouth corvina, bonefish, croaker and the basses whichthese jigheads perform quite well on The downside is we hook halibut and white seabass some over 40lbs and ther's no doubt we will straighten the hooks of these heads"

Nice jigs for an awesome price,March 15, 2008
By Stuporman1from Talent, Oregon
"I'm an avid panfish and bass angler and I'm always looking for a good deal. I've looked all over for inexpensive jigheads and found these to be the lowest price yet, to little to no detriment to their quality. The hook length is perfect for all kinds of plastic crappie tubes, grubs, etc. The hooks are also incredibly sharp; very comparable to any gamakatsu hook. However, I gave it a 4 because the hooks on the lighter jigs are somewhat flexible, and have had them open up on a few 4-pound bass. Still landed the fish and the hook was still good; and they work great as long as you aren't using a panfish jig to haul in good-sized bass."

Cabela's unpainted jig heads,August 13, 2007
By jfcutterfrom Klamath Falls, OR.
"I have been purchasing Cabela's "livebait" jig heads for many years (usually the smaller 1/32 and 1/64 oz ones) and found them to be a great value. The hooks are sharp, the heads round and usually well attached (a pinch with pliers firms up ones that aren't), and the quality good. I use them to tie my own "crappie jigs" which I use for all kinds of fishing...trout, perch, bass (lg. & sm. mouth), and of course crappies and other panfish. Recommended highly!"

extremely disappointed,July 4, 2007

"you get what you pay for, these have to be some of the worst hooks I've ever seen on a jig. very thin and bendable. You can literally bend the hooks and snap them right off using your fingers with very little effort."

Head Way too Big,May 22, 2007
By Dubsterfrom Breckenridge, CO
"Very disappointed to find the size of the head the same size as a 1/32nd. I realize the mission is to be environmentally sensitive but to use twice the size mold is not right. Surely some other material other than lead can be used to keep the size and the weight in proportion. When you're trying to finess fish and wing out this jig the plop will scatter fish anywhere near. Add a coat of paint and it's doomed."

Excellent product,January 18, 2007
By bassharrierfrom Altoona Pa.
"I use the 1/16 oz. head with a 1/0 hook for most of my river smallmouth fishing. Sharp and strong for under 3 bucks a 25 pack, you don't break the bank when you lose them to the bottom."
