"After watching a friend use this lure, I was intrigued as to its effectiveness. The fish that he caught were much larger than the ones I was catching, so I, like most fishermen, decided to steal his idea.
I found this lure to perform best in cloudy or low light situations, but still performs as well as other top-water lures, perhaps better, in sunny sky bluebird days.....
I use this lure for bass, but blue gill hit it readily, and as I have found out, sometimes the old tried and true lures are the best lures...."

"i got this lure for christmas and was glad to see it .just on a hunch i used it early new years day.on lake jackson ga. i was suprised to catch a nice 3 pound spot.water temp was 53. i cant wait till the warmup.the action and noise it makes will pull fish to it. slow down use a slack line when you see the fish strike hold back let it get the bait before you engage it.they cant stand it."

"An appropriate name for this lure. I have been using the Heddon Torpedos for years on smallmouth bass and decided to try something different. Since I prefer top water plugging I decided to try the Crippled Killer lure. This is a very effective lure and I would recommend to everyone. "fishing stories aside... took it out of the package last night at the river, threw it around for 1 hour, second cast / smashed by a 3 lb smallmouth, smashed 3 more times all by 2+ lb smallies. lost 2 others i would say it's an effective lure in my arsenal. reel & single jerk retrieve. used the 3 1/2" (041)Green/Sparkle. will try others"

"Used this lure on a lake my buddy and I have been going to for years. Beautiful body of water but the bounty was never reliable. On my first 3 casts early in the morning: one miss and two strikes, including the biggest Bass either one of us had ever pulled out of that lake. Great lure, would recommend it to anyone. "I really like the action of this lure. When not fishing the lily pads with a frog I turn to this lure to churn up the open waters. I had a good amount of success with this lure in the heat of the summer. I was suprised that even the smaller bass went after this lure.
