A heavy 48" nylon safety strap allows you to fight a fish without unlatching. For use in standard metal gunwale rod holders.

CE Smith Outrigger Rod Holder

The order was delivered in just three days from the order date.
The rod holders were used on a 20 ft. center console boat with an 8 ft. beam.
They mounted easily and were at the correct angle from the gunwhale. I was using them in the ocean out of Stuart Florida. The wind was about 15 kts. with a 2 to 3 foot sea. I also had out a surface line between the two outboard rods. The lines tangled only once which is not unusual under the described sea conditions. I would recommend these rod holders for anyone who wants a relatively inexpensive alternative to outriggers.

I have a 21' center console and without full size outriggers they allow me to troll multiple lines without to much problem.

I bought a pair of these rod holders for spanish mackerel trolling & have been completely satisfied with them. They are actually very pretty to look at too---I got the stainless steel ones which is polished to a mirror-like finish. The retainer strap which protects the rod from falling overboard when trolling makes them worry-free. Using 7 ft rods, I've experienced no line tangles, even making abrupt turns. They fitted perfectly into to the rod holders on my 29FS Regulator and make it easy to to remove & play the fish when you get a hook-up.
It would be nice if every fishing product worked as well as these do.
