Cabela's Outback Lodge Tent

Quite possibly the simplest design among quality tents today. Camping with the Outback Lodge ends the hassle of fighting with cumbersome pole sets. Setting up the Outback Lodge is as simple as (1) staking out the corners, (2) raising the single center pole and four internal corner poles, then (3) securing the guy lines. That's it; camp is made. You can even leave the center pole at home and simply hang the center peak of the tent from a limb for a lightweight spike camp. Walls are constructed of 190T nylon taffeta treated with a 1,500mm polyurethane waterproof-rated coating. The long-wearing floor is constructed of 210-denier oxford nylon. Double-pull zip-close door with zippered No-See-Um mesh panel. Three No-See-Um mesh windows, two new mesh-screen vents near the top and newly redesigned ventilation panels on the sidewalls reduce condensation. Plenty of headroom adds an extra measure of comfort. Stakes and stuff bag included. Optional floor liner for easy cleanup and extended floor life. Imported.

Not Disappointed
Date:
I was looking for a TeePee style tent with easy set up. Found it. I camp out alot with Boy Scouts and use this as a base tent. First set up was at camp rather than the back yard. A tents a tent right. Set up was easy but there are alot of guidelines to steak out. I decided to set up in the more open area to test the wind resitance. We had steady 35 with gust to 45 here in West Texas. While other tents were folding, this stayed taught. NO zipper problems as I read about in other reviews. Worked great. Next camp will be 5 days with rain possible. Next review then on dryness.

Certainly waterproof
Date:
My daughter and I used this tent at Lilly Bay, Moosehead Lake in Maine. During the evening a strong thunderstorm passed right over us. We had an actual river running under the tent! It was like being on a waterbed. We had a little moisture inside, but survived mostly dry! There are a lot of support ropes required to maintain the proper shape of the tent, so a lot of room is needed. I'm 5' 10" and there is plenty of room to walk around. All in all a great tent.

8X8 Outback, Impressive!
Date:
I found this tent on sale and couldn't resist. I set it up as soon as I got home and found it to be quite easy to set up. I am very impressed with this tent. It should be even easier the next time as I left the corner poles in place when I rolled it up. There were no zipper issues as previously reported. The floor is tub type so it should keep out standing water. I have since ordered a floor liner and some nobendum tent pegs. The included steel pegs are much too heavy for my purposes. I will use this tent as a Jeep tent and a hunting tent in AZ and AK.

Just Plain Excellent
Date:
We are extended duration hunters and needed a tent that provided ease in set-up/take down, room and sturdy enough to take changing mountain weather patterns. Our 12+12 Lodge does all that and actually is simple enough to be handled by one person if the need arises. High wind bairly ripple the walls and the vent pannels are excellent. Could use a door cover for rain(entry/exit get a little wet) but a 6+8 tarp works fine. This system made long camps fun again.
