Cabela's Big Horn™ III Tent

 • Sturdy enough to take on extreme conditions
 • XTC fabric repels rain and snow with ease
 • Heavy-duty steel frame ensures support
 • Hexagonal design maximizes interior space
 • Three large multiple-panel windows
 • Zippered opening in the sewn-in floor for a stove
This is a new and improved version of our already popular Big Horn II tent, and we made it sturdy enough to take on extreme conditions encountered on extreme adventures. It's a roomy single-wall tent made of XTC fabric that repels rain and snow with ease, and is tough enough to handle harsh foul weather. A heavy-duty steel frame ensures support to withstand wind and precipitation. The tent measures 12 ft. x 14 ft. with an 8'6" roof tapering to 5'6" sidewalls. The hexagonal design offers room for cots, gear and a stove around the sides while leaving the middle area open. We moved the stove area to keep the wall near the stove cooler. Three large multiple-panel windows include zippered covers, a clear-vinyl zip-out window and a mesh screen. There are three fold-down shelves that have mesh cup holders. There's a sidewall stove jack, a storm flap and a heat-resistant insert, as well as a zippered opening in the sewn-in floor for a stove. The inverted "V" door is outfitted with a heavy-duty zipper. Includes 12" steel stakes, guy ropes and zippered storage bag. The stakes weigh 11 lbs. Tent and frame weight is 72 lbs. Imported.

Very good tent
Date:
I’ve had this tent for about a year now and have used it many times, summer and winter, weather conditions don’t stop us. After a good friend of mine camped with me a few times he bought one also.
Set up is fairly easy once you’ve done it a few times, maybe twenty minutes or so, then another fifteen for the vestibule. I do it by myself most of the time while others have different camp chores. The vestibule very nice, I’m not sure why people have problems setting it up, it’s pretty straight forward and it adds a great deal of room.
I’ve used it in some very wet and cold weather and while there is a small amount condensation, even with four people it has never been a problem. I now have a wood stove and it eliminates any moisture issues completely, what a treat to enter tent warm dry tent when there is snow on the ground and the temps are right around freezing with a mix of snow and rain. It would be nice to have better ways to hang gear in the tent though, while there are a couple of loops, they aren’t high enough, and there isn’t a good way to hang an LED light from the ceiling.
The biggest problem I’ve had is that everyone wants to sleep in my tent, even when they bring their own tents they ask about moving to mine if the weather gets bad at night. They figure that whatever the conditions are outside they will be warm and dry inside mine.
I have been pleased with this purchase.

Great Design
Date:
We used this for our moose hunt in northern Ontario. Two guys cots and gear, and we had a 4 dog wood burning stove in it. Bought the extra floor liner and roof protector. Recommend these. Tent vents very well we had NO moisture at all, stove jack worked great and the tent stayed dry in the rain. Very comfortable for 2 guys, 3 would be tight but do able, the vestibule is a nice addition. Great design and layout easy to set up. Very happy.

Great Tent
Date:
I was shocked when I saw this tent on sale. I got one and my hunting buddy and I sent it up in less than 40 min. Then second time it only took 25 min. First night in the tent it was 35 degrees outside. Did not get cold or wet. Second night up there was a heavy frost on the outside and none ,not even wetness on the inside. Looking forward to taking it to Alaska on out yearly hunting trip.

Great Tent !
Date:
This tent is awsome! I've been in several bad storms and it holds up great. after setting it up a couple of times, i am able to set it up by myself with no help.. has plenty of room inside. This tent is heavy, not really suitible for packing long distance.
