    You can't beat Flexible Flyer!

Same great quality as 50 years ago. I made a good choice. Just wish I would have bought it two weeks later and saved an additional $12.00. My Grandkids will love it.

    Broken before touching snow
    Date:
I read the reviews on this sled before I ordered it so I guess I should not have been suprized. I purchased the 48" sled for my daughter, had it shipped to Cabela's to save on shipping, drove 1 1/2 hours to the Wheeling store to pick it up which didn't bother me seeing I had not been there in a while but once I got home and opened the box and layed the sled on the floor my wife said that the sled looked twisted . I turned it over, one runner from front to rear was humped which made the ends sit up about 1/4'' off the floor and the other had a dip which had the ends touching the floor but the middle sat 1/2 off the floor. I figured I would try and staighten them by pushing on them but then the RIVETS that others have commented about breaking, both broke. It is to far to drive to get another sled and I'm sure the rivets will break again so I am heading to the hardware store and going to replace the rivets with carrage bolts which should do the trick. Be prepared to do modifications on it because the rivets are going to break. Just not the quality you would expect from Flexible Flyer. Good Luck

    Brings back memories
    Date:
Having a new grandson made Christmas so special this year. I have the pleasure of babysitting him 3 days a week. Living in Ohio I try to think of fun things to do ourdoors in all four seasons.
This winter, I decided to purchase a sled. I wanted one that I knew would last more than one winter and as he grows, he would not out grow.
I remembered as a child myself having a Flexible Flyer Steel Runner sled and all the years of fun I had with it. I knew this would be a perfect gift that would last for many years of winter fun.
When the first snow was sufficient for sledding, I bundled him up and out we went. I was so excited to see how he would react to his first sledding experience.
It brought back great memories for me, and to see the expressions on my grandsons face was priceless.
If the weather cooperates, we will get lots of use this year with his new sled, and many more years to come.
Luckily, I was able to photograph and video this first sledding outing and hope to each year from this point forward, I know it won't be long until he is able to race down big hills either alone, or with others riding with him. It is plenty big and sturdy for at least 3 other riders.
This is a good quality sled made to last. I know he will get many years of enjoyment and memories, just like I did.
