size matters
Date:
Wish it was a little bit smaller to fit my rangefinder a little tighter. The loose material on the inside of the pouch hangs up in the magnetic closing lips which isn't awesome when walking the forest.

Cool closure
Date:
The magnet is loud if it closes quick, and is not as secure as a zipper or Velcro.

Great, but needs a little modification

I've been through one hunting season with my rangefinder case and I do like it a lot, but do have some reservations about it.
First, like other people I had a hard time finding a place to attach it to my pack. I have a Superday and ended up attaching it to the waist belt which I don't feel is the best place for it. I agree with Plainsman55 that this is probably more of an indictment of the pack than the rangefinder case.
Second, I LOVE the magnetic closure--it's super easy to open and close and is ultra quiet. However the trade off is you lose the security of a zipper; after going through some particularly nasty deadfall I found the case had opened. This is mitigated somewhat by the elastic tether cord that will keep the rangefinder from accidentally falling out and becoming lost--so use the cord! That brings me to my third point.
Thirdly, the clip at the end of the tether cord doesn't live up to Badlands normal quality and ingenuity standards. I ended up removing the whole thing and just tied the cord directly to my rangefinder.

Best I've found

I've been looking for a good rangefinder case since the one that came with my Leica Rangemaster 900 fell apart in the field. This one seems to protect, and I like the ease of access with the magnetic clasp as well as the lanyard. I marked it down from 5 stars for two reasons. One, there isn't a really good spot on my SuperDay pack to put it.. I went with the belt.. maybe that's more of an indictment of the Badlands backpack than this case.. also, there is a copper clasp on the lanyard that has rough edges that I'm afraid would scratch my rangefinder.. I fixed this with electrical tape... but expect more out of Badlands. Overall, very good though.
