I purchased this net and recently used it on a steelhead trip. I would describe it as a fry pan. The steelhead hit the bottom and jumped back out like it had hit hot oil. In concept it seems good, until you net a fish. The rim is a good size, but the net is not deep enough. Lost one fish and gave it away. I would not recommend this net for larger fish, such as steelhead or salmon as it is marketed for.
I got this net for a recent salmon fishing trip to lower Michigan, the frame of the net is big enough, but the net is not deep enough. When I tried to net most of the fish that we were catching the head and tail would be hanging out of the net. We lost fish because we could not get them in the net. If you are catching small fish it might be alright, but for salmon I could not recommend this net.
