The frame is large enough and deep enough for big trout. The rubberized net can't be beat for ease of catch and release.
I did not find the weight of the net to be any problem.
I would definitely recommend this net.

have been looking for just the right trout net for years. finally found the perfect net !! the net is very easy on the fish and my flies or lures will not get caught in the net. a rubber net is the only way to go ! Great product !!

I needed a little larger net for an upcoming trip(Optimistic!).
Saw this and liked the idea, especially seeing as how I release most of the fish I catch and I really hate pulling the flies out of a regular mesh type net..
Size is fine but I didn't quite think it through, Rubber netting is heavy, not really very flexible and the thought of having this hanging on my back all day is not exactly something I look forward to. The net weighs probably twice as much as a regular net. My guess is it will end up strapped to a float tube.
Overall quality of the net appears to be very good.
