not sure how to rate....
Date:
The first time I clamped it on my boat I was pleased with the flexability of mounting it anywhere. However, I bumped the screw that tightens the c clamp with my foot and the c clamp broke right in the middle. My stern light fell in the water. The light is great, it was still lit on at the bottom of the river and i was able to retrieve it easily. Light is awesome, it still works fine, clamp not so much.

Good Light, Bad Clamp - Clamp alternative...
Date:
I think the lights are much better quality than I expected. I don't use them often, but when I do, it's on a small duck boat, subject to abuse from shoreline "shrubbery" and my chocolate lab/bulldozer. Like others have stated, the clamp that comes with it is rather worthless for my situation. Due to the differences in mounting locations/methods, I'm glad they spent the money developing the light.
I suggest the wall mounting brackets for D Cell Maglites. I discovered that these fit the lights really well and are very strong on their own. I had a good location to mount the bracket on my duck boat, and just snap the light in when in use. One Maglite mounting kit contains two brackets, one for each light.

Good Light but Bad Clamp and Company
Date:
I bought a pair of these - i like the lights but the first time i used the lights one of the clamps broke. I contacted the manufacturer and they won't replace the clamp and want me to pay nearly the cost of a new light for a replacement clamp. I would not recommend because of this.

These lights were better quality than what I expected. They mounted easily, are very bright and even look good.
