The Flip Lid interior light operates by lifting
the cover to turn the light on and closing the cover to turn off. Mounts
horizontally and requires only a small hole to route wires. Light is 10 watts and measures 3-7/8" x
2". Colors: Black or Gray.
Very easy installation - 2 small holes for the mounting screws and one 1/4" hole for the wires to run through. Electrical instructions were vague, but any electrically knowing friend or hardware store can help. The light uses slide on electrical connectors - not supplied - but other than that they work great for extra flooring light for night fishing and unloading the boat at night. Worth the money.

This makes three flip lights I have purchased for my 2004 Lund fishing boat. I installed two in 2004 and but for one which seemed to turn itself on from the vibration and shock of rough fishing conditions and wave action while underway, I had not a problem with them until this Spring when I found that the one exposed more to the elements had rusted through and the innards had disintegrated! Nonetheless, the convenience factor of these units and the low price caused me to replace it. I suggest that galvanized metals be used and then I'll give it a "good" rating. It would deserve an "excellent" grade if they ever can replace the tungestin (sp??) fillament lamp with a replaceable led.
Although my new Lund 1850 Tyee has interior lighting, I perfer more. While fishing with a friend on his Lund, I noticed that he has these lights. Some in very different locations. I ordered a couple and placed them on the inside of the back platform, facing down to the floor of the boat. This location provides EXCELLENT LIGHT while trying to unhook a walleye and with my older eyes, it helps get the hook out of the net. After seeing just how much light these throw out, I'm considering getting eight (8) more. The lights can be used individually or they can all be lit at the same time. I will be installing a togle switch for the new lights. Because my friends and I fish primarly at night, it makes the rods sometimes hard to see. We've fixed that by painting the last three sections of the rod tips white. On my buddy's Lund, he has a light on both the port and starboard side, just behind the windshield. These lights are turned on to watch those white rod tips... He should have patented it !! EXCELLENT PRODUCT.. I'm ordering 8 more.
