On-Time ATV Spreader

This Spreader is made of a durable polyethylene and has a 20-gallon-capacity conical hopper. The new Vortex spin plate cuts off flow completely when the motor is off. Never again will you lose feed between spreading areas. Also, an electric valve allows you to set the gate opening from the rider's seat using an electronic meter. The meter has suggested settings from fine to coarse to help provide the best coverage possible. Wire directly to the battery with in-line power switch. Universal mounts fit most ATV racks. Throws fertilizer, seed and feed. The Power Port Adapter allows you to use your power port rather than wire directly to the battery.

Very Disappointed

Have used only one time. The automatic gate valve quit in first 30mins. Had to empty barrel and disassemble to find the problem. Gears in gate vale are very thin plastic. The drive gear broke at the motor shaft. I manually advanced the gear to get the desired opening size, and reassembled. On my sixth bag of fertilizer the motor quit. Now we'll see if the manufacture will stand behind it. I don't recommend this unit.

Poor Quality

I have only used this spreader once, due to the following issues:

- Door opening handle broke on the first open/close cycle.
- ATV bracket broke within the first hour of use.
- Spreader did not throw seed very evenly, and not very far.
- Too hard to reach the open/close handle from the ATV seat.

Door handle broke due to the seed flow through it. It wasn't robust enough to shut off the flow and close. The terrain that was seeded was somewhat rough, which led to the bracket breaking, but was not expected due to price. The only positives I have is that it comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor, and I did like the secure lid. That doesn't mean a lot since I won't be using it more than once! I am returning to the store for an exchange, and I will be trying a different brand next time.
