Outstanding Motor

I know that on some John Boats the bow is out of the water more so then other small boats. I have a bass hunter two man boat and the 30 inch shaft works great in forward or reverse for me. My boat sets maybe a little lower in the water then some john boats. Yes I do agree it would be best to extend the shaft to 36 inch but for my boat it works just find. This motor has alot of power for small boats so when you have it wide open you need to hold on to your hat.

MotorGuide Bulldog transom mount trolling motor

The 30" shaft is just too short to mount in front of the Jon Boat, when it is on forward and side to side the motor running great but when on reverse the motor will hit the bottom of the boat. I think if it is 36" shaft the problem will be solved. Otherwise, the motor running great and powerful enough to push a 16 ft Jon boat with 3 adults and a big fat dog with no problem.

Great product, but I think the shaft is too short. It should be at least 36in
