Cobra Marine Professional Stabilizing Plate

The pros’ choice for immediate out-of-the-hole response, super-low on-plane speeds and no loss in top-end speed. Mounts from underneath the cavitation plate, eliminating stress or breakage to the lower unit casting. Available in Satin Polished or Black powder coated finish. Fits Johnson, Evinrude, Mercury, Mariner and Yamaha. Fits I/O sterndrives from OMC Cobra, mercruiser, Yamaha I/O and Volvo Penta. The Angler is designed for 30 to 70 hp motors; the Edge is for 75 hp and larger motors. Requires some drilling.

Best Purchase And Product I've Ever Used!!

After researching other similar products many years ago I settled on the Cobra Marine Professional Stabilizing Plate (The Edge) for my 18' bass boat equipped with a 150HP outboard. My hole shot and boat stability improved 100%. Due to being aluminum and bolting under the motor's cavitation plate I've seen no preformance change or outboard damage after years of use. I've been so satisfied, I now use Cobra Marine Satibilizing Plates on all my outboards #9.9HP and up#. Plus after noting the construction, attachment and preformance I've now had to install them on my two brother-in-laws outboards used in the Louisiana flats plus many of friends have now purchased and use the product. If you're looking for a stabilizing plate to improve your hole shot and preformance this is a must buy!!!

I have used one of these stabalizing plates on an older Mercury before and it works just as well on my 2006 E-Tech 225 Evinrude. What an amazing difference in how the boat performs with this plate; quicker hole shot, planing at much lower speeds, more responsive steering, and better fuel economy as the boat rides higher out of the water when planing. My 22' center console is fairly heavy at about 5000 lbs when fully loaded for fishing but I still saw a slight increase in top end with this plate.
I have tried various other plates but this one seems to be the strongest, easiest to install, and best performing plate yet! I wouldn't be without one and I highly recommend it for any application.

Works even better than I anticipated. I have a Bass Tracker PT175 with the 60 hp four stroke and it has always sort of hesitated before coming up on plane. Now it simply jumps on plane and I can hit it in much shallower water - no impact on top speed but it stays on plane at lower speeds. I wish I had put this on years ago and will never have a boat without one again.
