This wind-driven spinning-wing decoy is lightweight, dependable and doesn’t require batteries. Its reliable design guarantees hassle-free use, and it’s an ideal option in places where motorized decoys are not allowed. Smooth-spinning wings turn in breezes as light as 5 mph. It has the same rugged and realistic decoy body as the standard Mojo. Includes 4-ft. mounting stake. Drake Mallard only.
I bough the decoy to save on weight when hunting from my kayak. I am now on my third unit: a wing broke at the bottom of the first one, the plastic chaff on the decoy broke entirely on the second one when I tried to remove the decoy from the pole in cold weather, and third unit is already missing a leg. Poor quality design and not rugged enough for heavy usage. It requires to be set up high in the air, for example with a 12 Ft Mojo pole, to have the wings to spin enough to create the illusion. I would recommend to spend you money on a wind duck or a mechanical unit if you can afford the storage and weight.
I bought this a year ago but didn't use it until this season. It doesn't work unless there is a wind of at least 10 mph and sometimes only one wing spins but it still attracts ducks. I had a flock of about twenty mallards decoy when it wasn't spinning at all. It seems to work really well. Looks really good when spinning.
I bought four of these on sale thinking they'd be a great battery-free alternative to the more expensive Mojos. Forget it. It takes a LOT of wind to turn these things and then they make a heck of a racket when they do turn. You need to get 'em facing directly into the wind and if it changes, they stop turning. Frequently, only one wing turns. Also, the poles are a joke, very short at about 16 inches. We now use them as ornaments around our duck camp and marvel on the rare occasions that the wings actually turn.
