Okuma Aventa Center Pin Reels

Machined bar-stock aluminum construction is incredibly strong and lightweight. On/off non-adjustable click drag with oversized spool lip lets you palm the rim for added resistance when fish make a strong run. Precision balanced for smooth freespool. Twin handles add stable grip without the need to take your eyes off your line. VT-1002 incorporates two stainless steel ball bearings for fluid performance. 4-1/2" dia. spool.

Well Worth the Cost!

I have been pinning for a couple of years now, and have graduated from the Aventa to a custom made reel. The Aventa is one of the best deals for the price. This is an "entry level" reel, and is not the best money can buy, but for the price is cannot be beaten!
Excellent value and well worth the price!

Only one trip under my belt and I'm new to Pinning. The reel functioned well in harsh conditions and is, I think, the ideal combination of value and function.
I don't yet know enough to evaluate the relative merits of the higher end reels, but I'm very happy with my "starter" reel.

I wanted to learn how to use a center pin. After doing a great deal of research, I decided to try the Aventa. I chose it for several reasons; Okuma is a name you can trust, the reel was aesthetically appealing, and the price was right. I made a great choice. For the money, this is not only a great starter pin, I have even thought about buying a second one. The reel has worked great in all kinds of weather, even at temps in the 20's.
