I grew up using Stren and always used it since!..... for the simple fact that you don't have to pay an arm n' a leg to get Great a Product. Two Weeks ago I caught 3 pound Rainbows on an Ultra light rod setup, trolling, using 6lb clear Stren. If it Works don't Mess with It!!!

Still the One to Choose

I've tried other lines, but for a one-size-fits-all line, Original Stren is my go-to line. In most cases, the clear blue is the one to tie on. It is visible in the light for those of us line watchers, yet fish don't seem to see it. It has some stretch that allows weekend fishermen a little forgiveness, if the drag is a bit too tight.

The hook sets are nothing like I remember, because I know its not my knots.
Its like telephone cord coming out of my reel instead of straight like it used to be
