Berkley® Trilene® TransOptic™ Monofilament – 220 yds.

  • Perfect for flipping and jigging
  • Great gold-colored strike-detecting line
  • Clear line color disappears underwater
  • Abrasion- and shock-resistant
This monofilament is perfect for flipping, jigging, Carolina rigging and deadsticking – applications where strike-detecting line visibility is essential. TransOptic's clear color vanishes below the surface. Above the surface and exposed to UV light, it turns bright gold for maximum visibility. Trilene's decades-proven nylon-copolymer formula is abrasion- and shock-resistant and has excellent knot strength.
Spool length: 220 yds.
Available: 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 20 lb. test.

So far, So Good
Date:
this line is stiffer than others I have used. The reviewer that said it behaved like coiled wire was correct. I found this to only happen when I placed too much line on the reel. Once I removed some line, no problems. this line casts great and has not bird nested one time yet.
It has excellent knot strength and is easy for me with large hands to tie.
Will update as the season goes on.

TOO STIFF LINE
Date:
I decided to try a spool of this line on my walleye jigging rod since it had the hi-vis gold color out of water. However, when I spooled it onto my reel, it reacted more like coiled wire than mono fishing line. I can't recall ever handling another mono line that was so stiff and unmanageable. I decided to remove and dispose of it as the cost was not worth the expense to ship it back to Cabelas, and I never did get to test it on the water.

great product
Date:
ok to start first thing to remember is that this is a copolymer line not a mono. it will be more reactant to heat. so no you cant leave it in the back of your truck on 100 degree days or just leave it laying out on your boat all weekend.
I like the minimal stretch. works great for medium to shallow cranks.
line visibility is good IN THE SUN. cloudy days it doesnt quite change as well.
have had no problem with line visibilty underwater so far.
yea i can see it but luckily fish dont see the way i do.
this week i landed over 30 lb of large mouth and never had to retie or trim line due to abrasions. biggest so far on line was a 6.5 lber and lost another bigger one by pulling hook out of mouth trying to land it.
great product but dont buy it expecting the softness of mono cause it aint gonna happen.
