Cold, wet, day...
Date:
38F. Rain. Penobscot Bay Buoy reporting 25mph winds. Dragging brush--an ugly job in good weather.
Stayed dry and warm. Very minor interior condensation (almost inevitable with such a steep temperature gradient). No holes or abrasions after a number of days of work--and I don't pull punches. Hood reasonably stable. Great pocket design; great zipper. Happy to see metal snaps on storm flap instead of "hook'n loop" fasteners. Washes well.

Great jacket/rain coat
Date:
I was impressed with the only other review of this coat and inspired to take a chance and I am wicked glad I did even though I do not snow board.
This is a great raincoat - I would call it a cross between and Georgio Armani, which I would'nt be caught dead in and a Carhart which is far more hip. I mention G.A. because they sell 400$ coats with a similar looking material that I have seen on the street.
This jacket doesn't have the thick duck material we are used to with Carharts which is a good thing if you want something lite that you can wear a heavy cardigan (for example) under.
This is a moderately light weight jacket and it looks and feels great. The hood is a bit large but it unzips if need be. You could fold this up fairly easily and pack it and it wouldn't take up your whole suitcase! Buy one!

best jacket ever.
Date:
i love my new jacket. i've been searching far and wide for a jacket like this. it's the jacket i've always wanted and now it's mine. i rule.
this jacket is a carhartt "waterproof breathable" shell. it came with a hood that can be snapped on or snapped off. i like hoods and all, but i like removable hoods better. those zipper-removable ones annoy me. and even worse are those hoods you're supposed to roll up and stuff into the collar.
my new jacket is black. all black. why are so many jackets so many different colors at once? i used to go for as many colors as possible in my clothing, but in the past few years i've grown to prefer solid colors.
this jacket is made of some kind of insanely durable nylon or something on the outside. it's so tough that i'd wear it motorcycle riding, except i'm afraid the nylon would melt to my skin if i went sliding along the pavement. but at least if that did happen, i'd never have to take off my jacket again.
this jacket is like a snowboarding jacket, only without the trendiness of a snowboarding jacket. it is simple and practical and gorgeous. it is the jacket i would have designed if i were a jacket designer.
i love this jacket so much that i worry about it. i worried about it so much that i bought another one just like it to keep as a backup. i keep the backup jacket at my parents' house in case my apartment burns down and my jacket goes with it.
i may just get rid of all my other jackets and be monojacketomous. i'm tired of playing the field of jackets. i've always known there was one jacket out there that was right for me, and now i've found it, and we can live happily ever after.
i took a picture of me in my jacket. i am smiling in the picture of me wearing my jacket. if you had a jacket like this, you'd be smiling, too.
