Dakota Temp Sensor
Date:
I was looking for a thermometer for all the bowhunting time I spend in the woods. This one works great. My only advice is to keep it on your pack as if you wear it on you it will tend to pick up body heat. I learned an interesting phenomenon; I always thought that on very cold mornings, as soon as the sun came up, the temperarture would rise with it and didn't understand why it seemed colder. Actually most of the time there is an initial dip as much as 4 to 5 degrees before it rises. It has to do with a mixing of the thermal levels.
I have never used the tide function on this device and can not comment on it.

Annoying BEEP
Date:
My main reason for getting this was to clip onto my hunting gear so I could easily see the time sitting in a tree stand without having to pull up sleeves or pull off gloves, etc. The function is fine but it should be noted that anytime you push a function button - even to light up the screen - this things BEEPS!! I've read through the entire instructions - and even researched online... no way to turn off the BEEP.

Watch review
Date:
The tide gauge is a phoney device and doesn't predict tides, but simply tracks tide frequency in general. Not worth using. Temperature is fair, but is strongly influenced by your body temp, making the temp incorrect.
