Just stepped up to these boots from some mid-grade boots. The difference is night and day. I fish alot during winter and the lack of snow build-up alone is worth the price of these boots, Easy-on with a nice sturdy fit. Have'nt experienced any slipping at all. Good strong, sturdy boots that should last 4-5 years. Buy em', you'll love em'.
Spent a week testing these boots on the N. Fork of the Clearwater in Idaho. The boots, with studs, performed very well - as good or better than as my felt ones. Very comfortable, great ankle support, and surprisingly very good grip. Only had a problem when I was crossing some mud covered boulders, but that would be a problem for any boot. Great option if you are thinking of switching to rubber soles, but the studs are essential.
Bought these to go along with my Frogg Toggs Hellbender waders and they worked great. Very comfortable, goot ankle support and great traction. Wasn't sure how they would compare to a felt bottom boot on the slippery slate of the steelhead streams of Erie, PA, but they did not disappoint. I could practically run up the streams without a worry of slipping.
