I have a career in land surveying with the US Forest Service in Alabama and I needed a boot that I could wear when it's too hot to wear my logger boots. These boots are fantastic! They weigh about as much as a typical pair of jogging shoes, but they're Gore-Tex, 8" tall, and have a fairly aggressive sole for traversing through the woods or up and down hills. The breakin time is minimal if at all. They feel more like a light-weight hiking boot but they're tall enough to keep my feet dry like my loggers when we come across a stream. In land surveying we stay on our feet all day, carying lots of gear, and we do lots of hiking back and forth to unusual (sometimes treacherous) spots. These boots are perfect for forest land surveying and I'll definitely be ordering another pair when these wear out.
THESE ARE THE BEST BOOTS I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. LIGHTWEIGHT, COMFORTABLE, GOOD FIT, NO BREAKIN REQUIRED. EXCELLENT FLEXIBLE HIGH TRACTION SOLES. I USUALLY WEAR MY HUNTING BOOTS EVERYDAY WORKING AND HUNTING. I'M 68 AND HAVE HAD A LOT OF DIFFERENT BOOTS. THESE ARE GREAT!
They took about 20hrs to wear in as I got some pain on my foot where the seem dug into the top of my foot. Now they are fine. The sole is extremely comfortable, the most comfortable boot I have worn ever. However the innersole on the left boot is a few sizes too small which causes my toes hang over the edge. Basically making them almost unwearable. I think this is more a mistake and not a quality issue with the boot. Yet to test waterproofing properly but the wet grass and very shallow streams have not revealed any problems. Will need the sole sorted before I can test further.
Bought a pair to wear grouse hunting in the Sandhills of Nebraska. After 2 days of roaming the hills no blisters no sore feet,I now have a favorite pair of hunting boots.
