The rugged, tear-resistant, 900-denier nylon uppers have the durability you need for years of reliable service, but will never weigh you down. I bought these for spring turkey season, but now consider them all around use. I went out to photograph some waterfowl in the cold and used some good wool socks and that was plenty to keep my feet insulated. I noticed the peninsula I was on turned into an island and was forced to wade though ankle and knee high water. I was VERY impressed at how water resistant these boots are. My boots didnt fill up until I hit the knee high area but even then my feet weren't completely soaked. I stayed out an extra hour to look for shed antlers once I decided that my feet were still comfortable. I hiked about 5 miles total that day. 2 miles of it were covered with stinky mud or submerged in water. GREAT BOOTS!
