Cabela's 9" Uninsulated Outfitter Series™ Pro Hunting Boots

  • Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane
  • SAW technology in midsole
  • Exclusive Vibram outsole
  • Uninsulated
Since they first hit the pages of our catalog 14 years ago, our Outfitter Series boots have risen to the top of our legendary family of hunting boots to claim their spot as our best-selling hunting boots of all time – a title they still hold today. The Pro Series, our latest evolution of this wildly popular line, still boasts all the rugged dependability you've come to expect from boots that bear the legendary Outfitter name, but are loaded with a slew of updated, comfort-enhancing features that the hunter can appreciate. The updated midsoles incorporate the Shock Absorbing Workboot (SAW) technology, which employs strategically placed impact zones in the forefoot and heel that soak up virtually 100% of ground shock. These boots have GORE-TEX® Scent-Lok® linings that don't need to be reactivated. All you have to do is allow the boots to air out after each use. The uppers are crafted of tough, generously oiled American leather with richly padded Bombardier leather collars. We then extended the lacing system farther out over the toes for even more support and stability. Plus, a Cabela's-exclusive Vibram® outsoles, with an innovative multidirectional tread patterning, grab tough terrain while releasing mud and snow. Uninsulated.

Average Boot
Date:
I purchased this boot to replace a pair of american made Danner GTX's I had worn for 5 years. The Cabelas Outfitter boot looked good for the price. After 2 weeks, and about 10 miles of wear, I returned them and bought a pair of Meindl Perfekt's. The Outfitter's were comfortable when I wasn't moving, but when I began to hike up and down mountains here in SW Idaho I started noticing friction in heel area and pinching in the forefoot. Maybe they weren't quite "broken in" yet, but I believe you can judge good quality the first time you wear a boot. If you plan on a ton of hiking in rough terrain, don't buy this boot. Buy the Meindl, it's much more comfortable.

New upland game boot
Date:
I read alot of reviews on these boots and notice a couple that stated the quick hooks would fail. I tried a pair on at the store and sure as anything one popped off when I was lacing the boot. I went and got another pair and took them home. I wore them all day and they were very uncomfortable on each side of the tongue. I will return them to the store tomorrow. This is not a break in issue. Just a poor design on hooks and tougue area.

I purchased these boots to bow hunt elk in New Mexico. I also am a guide here and see a lot of time in the woods. I like these boots for a couple reasons; 1) the rugged sole. They bite and grab when the terrain is treacherous. They are stiff enough to help in these situations, but not be so stiff that they are uncomfortable to crouch or sit for extended time frames. 2) They have remained waterproof. This last season was really wet. I used these boots every day. I do recommend these boots to my friends and another guide purchased them this last year after he went through 3 pairs of Danner Pronghorns in the 4 years. My only problem was this year, I pulled out one of the studs when lacing them up. No problem though. I just don't use that eyelet any longer.

Great boots...for me.
Date:
When buying boots, I recommend you write down exactly what you want. I wanted a tough pair of un-insulated, water-proof, leather boots for an upcoming elk hunt. This is exactly what I got -well made and rugged. They are warm and I imagine with wool socks they will be fine for cold weather. Not insulaed enough for cold-weather tree-stand hunting, but that is not what they are designed for. To meet what I needed, these boots are stiff right out of the box. Once I got these, I noticed that the area around my ankles hurt and my shins were sore due to the tongue. What I did and I do this to all my boots is apply a couple of coats of Obernauff. Add a thick coat and then use a hairdryer to heat it up. Works in really good and keeps the leather tuff, but softens it up. I have been walking about 3.5 miles a morning to break these in. The first 12 to 15 miles, the boots were stiff. Now after about 40 miles, you could not ask for better boots. Stood on the first step of the pool and no water. Good luck.
