Cabela's 8" GORE-TEX® Silent Stalk™ Sneakers

    • Incorporates Cabela’s-exclusive Microtex
    • Microtex is quiet as fleece and tough as denim
    • Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membranes
The Silent Stalk is the name of the trophy hunter’s game – which is why it’s also the perfect name for these boots. They feature the streamlined cut and softer rubber outsoles found in sneakers, but are packed with hunting-boot technologies that keep the spot-and-stalk hunter in mind. The leather uppers incorporate Cabela’s-exclusive Microtex™, a microweave fabric normally found in our camo clothing, but for the first time we’re using it in our hunting boots, too. The combed polyester Microtex is quiet as fleece, yet has the durability of denim. The key to its silence and strength is its tight microweave construction. The incredibly tight weave results in a low-nap fabric that is fade-, shrink- and pill-resistant. It also resists abrasion, encounters with thorny bushes and other obstacles hunters are likely to encounter. Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membranes keep feet dry. Rubber outsoles. Imported.

NOT Waterproof
Date:
After 5 minutes of walking in a typical morning dew you can feel your socks getting wet. Which is too bad. A very comfortable, light and durable boot and I would buy over and over again IF it was actually waterproof.

Water Resistant Not Waterproof
Date:
I have planter's faceitus (pain in arch in front of heel). I did a lot of research before purchasing this boot. Took them turkey hunting this weekend in sporadic torrential downpours. Comfort: Boots delivered everything I was looking for. Waterproof: No. Feet did not become soaked but it was apparent just walking in the heavy dew before the rains that water resistant rather than waterproof was the case. Very comfortable / no breakin / no blisters but the manufacturers of this boot, do not have the same definition of waterproof as any of my other hunting boots. Feet were not wet enough to cancel hunt but just wet enough to notice.

Happy so far!
Date:
I was just super happy that the boots fit so good, IN MY SIZE! I don't normally order footwear online because I don't want the trouble of having to send back a shoe that doesn't fit. I wear a size 12 in everything so I am very pleased that the boot is snug to my foot and ankle, with the perfect amount of room in the toe area.
I haven't had a chance to abuse them at all but they are off to a good start.
