I bought these a year ago after studying the reviews and trying several other styles. I bought them because here in the Sierra foothills, we have a lot of Rattlesnakes around the ranch, and I wanted them for the safety factor. I wasn't too concerned with the waterproof factor since our climate is usually dry. These boots were very comfortable right out of the box. The zipper feature is great. They are super easy to get on and off, and they snug right up when you zip them up. These boots have become the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They show very little wear even after a year of using them on a daily basis. If they came in black, I would wear them to Church. I haven't had any issues with wetness, but I generally don't have to wade across streams. For working in wet fields and on wet grassland, they have been great.
I liked these so much that I bought a pair for my Father, and another pair for a buddy. If they came in a woman's size, I would have bought them for my mother too. Everyone loves them.
This is honestly the first Cabelas product I have not been modestly satisfied with. These boots are easy to get on and off and that is about the only good thing I can say. They are not water proof or resistant. The material is not durable and the seams have started to separate in some places after what I would consider casual weekend hunting use. They are also pretty stiff, unlike other boots that soften as you wear them. I normally keep a pair of boots 3 or 4 seasons, but I will be glad to get rid of these for a differnet pair next season. Sad to say, this is probably the first Cabela's product I would not recommend.
Bought these almost 9 years ago after run in with large moccasin. Since then, these have been my go to boots for almost all occasions. Most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Bought another pair of the same style, but insulated, last year. Getting another pair of snakeproofs this year because they are finally wearing out. Used at least 5-6 days a month in heavy terrain. Great boots!
These boots were a little stiff at the beginning but loosened up quickly. I waded a few streams here in Georgia an they did not leak as some say they do. I give them a BIG thumbs up and would recommend them highly.
