Danner® Recon 200-Gram GORE-TEX® Boots

This all-leather, 8" boot offers great all-around support and stability and is approved by the U.S. Postal Service and Marine Corps. 200-gram Thinsulate™ insulation provides additional warmth in moderate climates or where changing weather patterns occur. GORE-TEX® and moisture-wicking linings guarantee that your feet will remain 100% dry and comfortable. The traction-enhancing Vibram® Kletterlift sole will provide years of active service. An included Airthotic insert provides outstanding support while promoting air circulation around the foot. Made in USA.

I've been in law enforcement for 9 years now, and have worn Danner boots all 9 years. This is the first time I've bought an all leather boot, but I can tell you with a pair of smart wool socks, these boots keep my feet warm and dry during the cold MN winters. I've yet to wear them during the summer months, but I know they will keep my feet dry from the rain and wet grass. I also like the fact that when the sole wears out I can easily get it replaced. They also hold a nice shine and hold up to the road salt. I will continue to purchase Danner boots until the day I retire!

This is my first pair of Danner's and it won't be my last. I bought theses boot for back packing and they were just what I needed. I love the extra ankle support and wide foot print gave me the stability I needed to hull my pack over hill and dale. The lack of unnecessary seams and stitched sole reek of durability not found in lesser shoes. And they are made in the USA so my money stay in the country I love.

These are all leather Danner boots. They run true to size. They are completely waterproof and insulated with 200 g of thinsulate. They actually feel warmer than other 200 g booots I own. They are very comfortable for all day wear. I did replace the supplied orthotic with a full footbed but that is just me. Mine fit so comfortablely they feel like you are not wearing anything. Into my 2nd year and not really showing any wear yet. Only negative thing is they do not have speed laces.
