The RAT represents the toughest boot components in the world – all stitched together to create one ultrarugged war boot. 1,000-Denier nylon, full-grain nubuck, and reinforced leather overlays create a fortress of protection and support. Underneath, you’ll find Vibram® 360 outsoles with Dri Ice for unrivaled flexibility and traction in frigid condition. 100% waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® liners are engineered to keep your feet dry and comfortable – even in extreme conditions. Polyurethane-coated leather over toes and heels for increased durability. Danner’s hand-crafted stitchdown construction provides a wider platform for increased stability. great boots

I purchased these because they are American made.I have had these boots about 3 months as of 04/17/2012. They are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn with little to no break in, you can tell they are not cheap boots. I wear them for mild hiking and for work around the property. I have notice that the protective toe and heal materieal has a light surface scaling to them after the last round of digging 90 tree holes in this Tennessee clay, but I don't see this as a problem since it is additional protection over the leather,its just wear and tear. They have proven fully waterpoof so far twice now which is nice because I can easily hose them off when I get them muddy. Worth the Money, American quality ! Period.
