Nice Quality, Great looking Vest

I was shopping around for a left handed clay shooting vest and tried several on. I was not impressed with much of what I found. I wanted a quality vest made for a lefty. Flustered, I took a leap of faith and ordered this vest. The quality of the vest is very good. The materials look durable and the features are plenty. The rear spent shell pocket is zippered for easy emptying of spent shells. There are 2 zippered pockets inside the vest for ID's scorecards etc. Two double pockets on the left and right side of the vest. You can technically carry 4 boxes of shells or you can use one for live shells and one for spent shells. Both pockets are expandable. There is a 2 shell holder on the upper right chest area that holds 12guage shells securly. Below that is a breast pocket for items you need quick access to. On the left, the leather is supple and smooth for snag free gun mounts. Better than I expected in this price range. I can't find the shooting pad pocket but from other reviews I've read, It looks like some have it and some don't. It would be wise for Cabela's to not advertise it as having a pad pocket or make sure all of them have the pad pocket. Nonetheless, it does not detract from the quality of product. I wear a size medium and it fits me well. There is are 2 straps to help with fit and there are also 2 D-rings to clip items you might need. I use one to hang my shooting glasses case. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and I expect to have this vest for many years to come.

Good quality well made. Spacious front snap pockets are at the perfect height and dimension. Vest has a solid zipper system and pull side adjustments. Overall size is perfect length for me in a XXL as I am 6\u2019-3\u201d and 245. I could have went with the XL but wanted to use over heavy outer wear for winter use. The two extra shell holders are loose fitting and shells fall out very easily. Two inner zipper pockets are great for storage. Great Product!

Cabela's does themselves no favors with their limited product descriptions and images, so I hope my added description here helps others...

Plusses: 1) The leather is real leather, and is supple. 2) It has DOUBLE pockets at the hands AND the main hand pockets are snapped to allow them to adjust larger for more shells. 3) The rear empty shell bag pocket has a zipper along the bottom for dumping empties. 4) Overall quality is excellent, as good or better than other top brands.

Minuses: 1) Unfortunately I am a tough fit at 6'-6" tall and 240 pounds. The XXL I ordered was both too short and too wide at the waist even with the waist adjusters fully tightened. If it had been 2 inches longer, I would have paid to have it custom-tailored I liked it that much. As it was, I had to buy a "B" brand in XXL which did fit me much better although I preferred the quality, looks and design of the Clay Pro. 2) The recoil pad pocket is located a bit too low, so that with a gun mounted the top 1/3rd or so of the stock is not over pad. This is not a big deal since the leather is pretty cushy in itself, but I mention it as a caution for others depending on it. Again, if it had been long enough I'd have paid to have the tailor relocate it.

Other: The Cabela's optional neoprene pad insert is also very nice.
