Over the years I have owned several pairs of the original deluxe shooting gloves. This year I ordered these gloves as I liked the open cuff style. These gloves failed to live up to the Cabela's name. During the third time I wore them duck hunting the finger seams started to leak. Then the rubber palms started to leak and take on water. Like having a small sponge in your palms. The third problem is the adjustable wrist strap is too way too short. I am returning them for a pair of the original shooting gloves.
I bought these gloves to replace some old ones which were no longer water resistant. I had a hard time finding these on line after seeing them in the Waterfowl catalog. Why any glove which is in camo is NOT listed in the waterfowl or hunting section is beyond me.
I normally wear L gloves but ordered XL so I could easily put them on if my hands were damp (happens all the time when waterfowling in a boat) and put a hand warmer in. These gloves are so tight I have trouble putting them on when my hands are completely dry.
I thought about cutting the liners out but they seem to be sewn into the fingers.
Why can't someone make a good quality waterproof glove with slick material on the inside to go on easy. Provide a separate linerglove for extra warmth. The key thing is the glove needs to go on and come off easily.
I bought a pair of black snowmobile gloves at the Sidney store bargin room in 1998 like this that I used until this year, mostly w/o the liners. They finally wore out (ah, the good old stuff).
I'm an experienced forest technician in Quebec. My goal was to have a warm pair of gloves and dexterity so I can easily touch the buttons of my GPS and put high visibility flags for exemple.
I used them while walking non-stop in the forest at 20F and under the rain at 32F: They kept my hands dry, easy on/off and very good dexterity. They also dried completly during the night just being on a inside shelf. I won't wear them under colder T than 25F because there is not enough insulation around the index and my index were feeling the cold too much....I know it's a compromise for the trigger.
They will be my gloves for T over 25F but I will have to find a warmer pair for colder T with decent dexterity.
