Danner's 453 GTX Steel Toe Boot broke the work-boot mold with its sleek and sporty design. It looks every bit as much of an outdoors boot as it does a 9-to-5 work boot. Featuring full-grain leather and a scuffproof toe cap that provides extra protection. A GORE-TEX® liner keeps feet dry while the Terra Force™ X support system makes the boot lightweight and comfortable. Danner's aggressive TFX-sculpted tread can handle a trail just as easily as it can a work site. The X-frame design features triangle-shaped lugs for improved acceleration and downhill braking. Exterior lugs will keep you balanced when the work or trail goes up a hill. All lugs are beveled to prevent debris buildup. ASTM-approved steel toe.

I like the 453 boot and have bought them now for the last 3 years for work. It's a comfortable boot, and they remain waterproof even after a year of use.
My one complaint is the tread wears away afte about 9 months of steady use. 3 years and 3 pairs with the same results every time. The boot has plenty of life left, but the tread is gone. I will be looking for something new this year.
This is my first pair of Danner boots and so far I'm rather pleased with them. I've worn them for about three months now and they are extremely comfortable. The boots are a little stiff out of the box but I never got blisters from breaking them in. After about a week they felt broke in. As an electrician I kneel a lot to do my job. With normal leather covered boots I'd have the steel toe exposed within a month. The rubber toe guard on these boots seem to be holding up great so far. The soles have great grip on all types of surfaces. There are a couple things I haven't cared for though.
One is the tongue seems to be a bit large for the boots and it tends to get outside of your pants. It's nothing major but if you care about that it may annoy you a bit.
Another thing that I didn't care for is the top of the boot seemed to bleed into my socks. All my white socks now have an orange ring around the ankle area now. It took over a month before they stopped bleeding.
The minor issues is why I gave a review of 4 stars.
I owned a another pair of Danner Steel Toe Boots and Stood on 4 inches of icy slush for 45 minutes. My feet stayed warm and dry the whole time. This pair are light, comfortable and fit perfectly right out of the box. I would highly recommend Danner Boots to anyone looking to get comfort and durabilty from a pair of work boots.
