Redesigned with even more safari-inspired features, this shirt is ready for travel to the Serengeti and beyond. Behind each pocket there's a large zippered security compartment, one vertical and the other horizontal. One pocket also includes four large shell loops for safari-size ammunition. Sleeve pocket. Epaulets. Swiss tabs. Imported.

I love these shirts
Date:
I have bought several of these shirts and plan to get more. They're comfortable, durable, look great, and I love the quick access of the zippered pockets. I frequently use the left vertical zippered pocket for my cellphone and the right horizontal one for business cards.

a too-busy downgrade
Date:
The old simple square tail SSS was a masterpiece - wore them 'til the pockets dropped off (the one weakness). Now, the extra sew-in pocket only makes the front thick and hot. The pocket splits limit utility. And the double-layer in the shoulders makes it heavier and warmer. They should go back to the old design - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

One Awesome Shirt
Date:
This is one of the finest shirts I've owned. I LOVE the design so much I now own 6 of them including at least one of each color. The extra pockets are great. I love the horozontal and vertical zipper pockets; in fact, I use the vertical zipper pocket to carry my cell phone in. I also like the shell pocket. Works really nice to carry extra ammo for my .410/.45LC revolver. The shirt is of very high quality and I have absolutely zero complaints. For the $, one would be hard-pressed to find a better shirt anywhere. THANKS, Cabelas!

Why change a good thing?
Date:
I've been wearing Cabela's Safari shirts (almost exclusively) for many years and have been extremely pleased with them. I'm also a believer that (in most cases) if it's not broken, don't fix it. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the redesign of this shirt has done nothing to improve it and several things to detract from its usefulness. I find no advantage to having one of the breast pockets have a vertical zipper. With a horizontal zipper, on can leave the pocket unzipped if desired and not worry about items falling out. With the vertical zipper, this is not the case.
The flaps on the pockets have been redesigned and now are such that one cannot keep a pen (with clasp) in the pocket without having half the flap be open and pointing upward (the previous Safari shirts allowed easy access to a pen/pencil with the flap in the fully buttoned down position).
While some users may find the ability to store up to 4 rifle shells in their shirt pocket (too small for 12 ga. shotgun shells), I suspect that most of the buyers of this shirt will find this of little usefulness.
Other Safari shirts available from Cabelas are either not 100
% cotton or do not have the pocket on the sleeve - which I find very useful.
Bottom Line: Please Bring back the original Safari Shirt.
