Cabela's Safari® Jacket – Tall

Popularized by turn-of-the-century adventurers, safari-style jackets were engineered for comfort and function in the African bush. Our classic Safari Jacket is made from sturdy, 6-ounce-per-square-yard cotton calico and garment-washed for a worn look and broken-in feel. Contrasting color down the inside of the five-button front placket and back yoke as well as under the button cuffs and pleated pocket flaps offers a distinctive look. A map of Africa on the inside back lets you know the jacket was made for adventures in demanding locations. It also has dual shooting patches, an interior drawstring waist and epaulets. Imported.
Tall sizes: M-5XL. For men 6’ to 6’4".
Colors: British Tan, Light Olive.

The recent purchase is a replacement for one I bought when my son was 6. He's 20 now and has one of his own.
Good looking, comfortable and long lasting. It can't be beat.

I love the versatility of this jacket. I wear it very casually, or I wear it as dress casual with a nice pair of slacks, shirt, or jeans. I have received numerous comments and queries as to where I got it and how do I like it. A welcome addition to my wardrobe.

Great Style, Poor Make

Great looking light Safari jacket. Fits well but entry to slash side pockets (behind patch pockets on bottom) has poor sticking reinforcement at the stress points at the pocket rear and repeated in and out tears the fabric at the top rear attach points on both pockets requiring repairs. Surprising because a Safari jacket is supposed to be a working jacket, not a costume.

Just what I was looking for

The jacket fits great and was just what I was looking for. I ordered it in the tall size as I wanted to be sure it would cover to below my hips since I wear a pistol in a holster on my belt that I wanted to conceal. This jacket fit the bill perfectly. You can wear it completely unbuttoned and it looks/performs well.
The jacket is well made with solid stitching and seams. The pattern in the front shoulder area dresses up the jacket and I like the color offset when the sleeve cuffs are turned up. It's a lightweight jacket, about the weight of a BDU shirt. It can be worn in warm weather comfortably up to about 85 degrees.
It doesn't have any inside pockets (which I would have liked) but I knew that before I bought it.
I recommend this jacket.
