I've hunted with them 4 times now. They did smell like rubber out of the box , so I put them outside overnight and they were fine the next day. The first time I put them on they were stiff. After 3 on and offs they are easy to get into and easy to get out of. I hunted in 80 degree tempratures and I never felt the heat inside. The best thing about this boot is how it has extrx rubber on the instep and on the ancle and heal. They fit like a glove, with great support where you need it. I was concerned about the 400 lineing, but my socks were dry When I took tham off after 4 hours. GREAT BOOT!
These boots are warm and comfortable for long hikes but that's about it. Extremely difficult to get on and off. Exoflex heel is in the wrong location. These boots have a thin layer of rubber over neoprene and it didn't take much of a twig to puncture them and now they are no longer waterproof. Got to wear them 4 or 5 times before the puncture. Not worth the money.
I was in the market for a pair of rubber boots to use for bow hunting. I had a few in mind so I went to Cabela's to try some on. I tried on many different brands and I thought the Irish Setter's were the most comfortable and they were pretty easy to get on and off. I wore them yesterday on a hike through the woods and they were as comfortable as running shoes but sturdy like my lace up boots. So far I can't say enough good things about these boots. Being critical the only thing I could find as an inconvience is the rubber odor but I think wearing them a few times will take care of that.
