Cabela's Trans-Alaska™ III Pac Boot

From the Iditarod trail to the treestand, these boots have proven they are true cold-weather performers. A 13mm Texel® removable liner reflects heat inward to minimize loss. Beneath that, the Moisture Trap footbed wicks away perspiration and condensation. A 1/2" layer of EVA foam, coupled with the nylon-covered Phylon midsole, puts 3" of cold-blocking material between your feet and the ground. The tough, flexible vamps are protected by a triple-layer, abrasion-resistant toe guard, and the rubber toe cap ensures longer wear. These boots have a reflective, lightweight waterproof shell with lightweight, reflective nylon shafts. Radiantex™ reflective coating. The 8" liner allows for pants inside the boots, and the rip-stop nylon gaiter has a cord-locked drawcord to keep out snow. They're easy to tighten, thanks to a one-pull ball bearing lacing system. Inside, a heat pack pocket allows you to insert toe warmer heat packs.

Warm boots for very cold weather
Date:
I bought these boots for a February excursion from Fairbanks to Nome. Temperatures down to -50 and not a problem at all. You can put foot warmers in these boots, but never needed...sturdy, good traction soles for snow and ice. Can't say enough good stuff about this product.

Excellent boots
Date:
I was looking for a great pair of boots for hunting and ice fishing so my feet didn't freeze and these are it. I've been out fishing and hunting when the temps were well below zero and my feet were nice and toasty.

Best Sub-Zero Pac
Date:
I had the Iditarod IIs, but somebody liked them better than me--and they ran off with that person. I had my first pair of IIIs a few years ago; I lost those to my wife. This past winter we had temps down to -70 and although I stayed home and fed the stove if I'd had to go out I know at least my feet would be warm in my new IIIs. I've used these pacs continuously since around (IIs and later, IIIs) 2000 or so whenever it's below zero--and here in Arctic Alaska it's normal. The IIIs are lighter, easier on and off, and have provisions for heat packs. They're warm even filled with water--that too happens regularly in overflow.

Good Boots
Date:
These boots are the best I could find for what I was looking for. They are very warm and comfortable. They are HUGE, but they dont weigh you down, and are worth buying even if you're not going to Alaska. I use them for ice fishing and they are great. You can walk comfortably in them, and dont get overheated. Worth the purchase.
