These casual shoes come out of the box with a broken-in fit you’ll notice the first time you put them on. Classic styling makes them a natural match with jeans and khakis. Since they bear the Cabela’s name, be assured that value is also one of their best attributes. Water-resistant leather uppers combine with Ortholite footbeds to keep your feet cool and dry with a high level of breathable comfort. Integrated EVA midsoles and outsoles add cushioning. Imported.

I received these Jackson Oxford shoes in early October 2011. They are amazingly comfortable and good-looking, in my fashion sense. The fit/size seemed correct (9 normal width) and felt good from the start with virtually no break-in. However, by mid-December, I noticed that even just a wet sidewalk caused my socks to get damp. A quick look confirmed that the sole was worn nearly completely through. Only the tan section (shown in the online pics near the ball of the foot area) had worn. The material seemed like a fibrous/soft rubber compound that quickly absorbed water and passed it through to the inside. I used these shoes inside the house generally daily, and on fair weather shopping trips -- no hiking, sports, or other hard service activities. In a matter of days following this discovery, the tan sole sections split completely. The rest of both shoes are in great condition, superbly comfortable, but unusable.
After the Christmas holiday, I contacted Cabelas to describe the shoe failure and hopefully they have contacted the manufacturer. Perhaps something will change. If you are inclined to purchase this model, you may want to ask if any recent changes have been made to the construction. Also, be aware that Cabelas has a great 90-day satisfaction guarantee, so inspect for wear on a timely basis.

Just purchased a pair of the Jackson Oxfords after trying on numerous other pairs of shoes. I'm impressed by the look and feel of the shoe, not to mention the good price...I will update my review in several months and let you know how they "feel" after some use...

The shoes are ok except they are not the color that shows in the catalog. I almost sent them back but are going to give them a try as they feel very comfortable. They are a lot darket than the picture in the catalog
