I wouldn't normally buy shoes of any kind online but these were a great deal and with Cabela's customer service I thought I'd take a chance. Brought them to a scout jamboree and after about 2-3 hours my feet were killing me. The boots seemed a little narrow and my feet hurt across the ball. Also, they rubbed my ankle a bit, moleskin saved the day, and were fairly heavy. Heavier than I expected for a non-leather hiking boot. I'm doing several scout trips this summer so I really need to have hikers that work for me. I think if you have narrow to normal feet these would be okay. My feet are a little wider than most so that could be the issue.
First all the hikers were a good fit and extremely comfortable. However I walk for about an hour every morning before light and then again in the afternoon, there is usually a dew on the grass in the mornings. After the third morning walk the right hiker started to leak at the outside toe, and after a couple more morning walks both hikers were leaking at the outside toe. I liked the comfort and fit so I decided I would not wear them in the morning. Then I got caught in an afternoon rain shower and had to fast walk through some knee high clover. When I got back to the house the entire foot area of both hikers was completely wet. Customer service was great and gave me a credit. Will try a different mid hiker.
for swampy places quite work shoes .... use it for fishing ... no problem ... in dress-20C ... does not feel cold ..... surprisingly dry and light footwear
