Engineered for optimal stability, traction and support on the trail, these hikers are also vented to keep your feet from overheating when the path gets a bit challenging. Breathable mesh in the uppers allows air to circulate through the shoe. The padded tongue and collar ensure a secure and comfortably snug fit. They're outfitted with pull loops for easy on and off. A generously sized toe guard protects the front of your foot from rocks and other trail hazards. Keen's S3 Heel Support Structure guards and stabilizes the back of your foot. The design incorporates a torsional stability ESS shank that works
to provide sure footing on varied terrain and surfaces. 4mm multidirectional lugs on the outsole bite into the ground,
but also shed dirt, mud and debris with every stride.

My Keen Voyageur Mid Vented Hikers took me all the way from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and back without blisters or even a hotspot. A 100 mile round trip from 9300 to 17,500 over: sand, dust, dung, gravel & ice. I could not ask for more. Their next job is rim 2 rim across the Grand Canyon...and they will make it easily...
Though these shoes were a Christmas gift 12/25/2009 I was very disappointed in the durability of the shoe. I work in a grocery store and commonly use street / hikers, as they are very comfortable. As of April 2010, just four months after acquiring the shoe, the soles of the shoe are separating, to the point I can put a finger through on either sides of the shoe and touch them in the middle. I have heard that Keen, is a very high quality shoe, and was looking forward to the experience of growing old together!! I haven't even got them wet or done any kind of hiking....( what the shoe was made for ). I know that I can repair them with some sole glue, BUT I shouldn't have too. I hope nobody else has the same problems......hope this review helps too.
