purchased the grand mesa low cuts. they were great but didn't want the low ones for early season hunting no support. I ordered the mids and they were sooooo tight for a EE and the d ring at the top of the shoe dug into my ankle. I wore them for 4 hours walking through the woods and thought my feet were going to fall off. Not like the low cut.
Almost all the reviews I write for Cabelas products I write with pleasure this one not much. In less than two months of infrequent use the soles separated from the uppers. The price was right and the size availability was great but the best part about these hikers is the fact that Cabelas stands behind their products 100%. I easily arranged to have them exchanged for a different shoe. When I purchased these boots from the Hamburg PA store the shoe department was setting up a display for the MADE IN USA products. I wish the display had been larger. If Cabelas buys American so will America. How about that for your next ad campaign.
As already stated...run narrow and the tounge could use some work. Decent comfort and waterproof when walking thru wet grass and puddles. Wear pretty well. I use them as a daily work shoe which is about half my time out during the summer working on pools and light construction. I'm on the third pair and I get about a year out of them before the sides give way and the snow gets in.
All told I think I get what I paid for in a relatively low priced mid-top hiker.
I have had these for a few years now, and they are very good hikers for the Money. I recently helped open up the drain ways on some of the local Trails and I was slopping threw streams and mud, with lightweight wool socks and my feet where never wet. My feet also have never felt fatigued in these boots. Definightly recommend them to who ever is looking for a lighter mid-weight water-proof hiker.
