Comfortable but Poorly Made

I purchased 2 pair of these for general walking and hiking. Very comfortable out of the box and looked good. Material on the inside of the heel on both feet wore out within a month. I bought some patch material but it rubbed the heels. The leather on the outside (small toe side) of the shoes just behind the top caps have split open along the lenght of the leather impression. Won't purchase this name brand any longer. Very poor value.

First shoes I've bought that feel great right out of the box. Hiked quite a bit in them and they hug the ankle well. I've been very happy with them.

I bought a pair of these shoes about a year ago for doing day hiking and work out in the yard. But these shoes have turned into my where anywhere shoes. I cannot stress how nice these are. I can have them going through the woods on the weekend and easily cleaning up to be used in my regular work a day roll. Size for me was an issue but not the length but the width. Buying the actual size made them big enough for my wide feet and after a hike or two, they were fitting like a glove. I just ordered a second pair as these are getting so much use that the tread is nearly worn out.

I recommend ordering in your usual size in contrast to some of the previous reviews. I exchanged the 9.5 for my usual 10 and the 10 feels wonderful, good size though I haven't hiked in them yet. Have a 25-miler later this summer that will put these to the test.
