I would trade less pockets for better quality
Date:
The Kryptek website explains that these pants were intentionally made without stretchy material because too much stretch in a pant gets annoying. The waist fit true to size but the cut of these pants were similar to a slim fit dress pant. The crotch was not gusseted so it felt a little constricting when taking steps uphill (up my stairs). I read another review saying the pant waist button was weak. The button is sewn on with a single stitch ribbon. I barely pulled on the button and sure enough the ribbon's seam started to split. Most of the stitching is single stitched so I would question the pants durability. Also the pockets are a bit overkill. There are 6 pockets on the thighs alone. 4 of them are on the back of the thigh, and 2 pockets on the front of the thigh. I think having 4 pockets on the outside of the thigh would be ideal. Then they give you 2 pockets down above your ankle. I can't think of what I would want to carry that low on my leg. I don't intend on wearing my full battle "kit" when I am out back country hunting. The knee pad adjustment system was designed pretty well. The material would probably be fine for early season hunting, and I really like the Mountain Mimicry camo pattern. Cabelas was good as always and refunded my money. Overall, I didn't think the pants were worth the price. If you do get a pair I would reinforce the stitching on the waist button.

NM Elk pants
Date:
Luckily, I found these pants on line before traveling to the store on a roconn mission. If you need versatility - these pants are it. One pair of pants - these are it. I wore them 4 straight days in the high mountains of northern New Mexico and they performed flawlessly. When I dropped to one knee to arrow an elk, I never felt the ground - thanks to the (removable) knee pads. I will agree that they run more military size than huntin boy size... I am 5'10" and weight 180. The large just fits.
Well made and the company is a pleasure to deal with if you need them.

poor fit
Date:
The fit of these pants are poor. I got an XL and they fit closer to mediums. Definitely wont work for hunting. As far as quality of materials I have no complaints but was unable to field test the pants. I find all the pockets/zippers unnecessary. I do like the camo pattern but think these pants fit poor and I am not sure how well they suit the serious hunter.

quality control?
Date:
I bought these pants for elk hunting in Colorado for the 2011 archery season. Within the first 2 hours of wearing these pants, the only button on these pants fell off. Unfortunately, it was the fly button. I was two miles from the truck and 1500 feet into a canyon and was forced to use rope to keep them on. They might be good pants except for the button, but I'm not willing to take that chance given the price.
