I'm sold!!
Date:
After purchasing the Silent Weave pants and being a little underwhelmed, I decided to go with Microtex. I've been hearing about the Microtex fabric for a while, so I finally decided to buy the pants since they are on sale. I'm SOLD!! Wow, these pants feel fantastic and fit great. The fabric is unbelievable. The legs are full cut (think "relaxed" or "loose fit" jeans) and the waist is tad on the small side since it fits me perfect. For reference: I'm 6'2" 185lbs and have a fairly athletic build. I wear a size 33"X32" in jeans. I bought a 34" regular and these fit very well for me which leads me to believe they run either very true to size or a tad small. The length is also true at 32" in my opinion as these fit just like my jeans (slightly bunch at the top of the shoe). However, I like the slight "fullness" of the cut since I'll be able to easily layer underneath and they are VERY easy to move in.....I could do my Fitness Test in these. Overall I could not be happier with the purchase. The cargo pockets are nice and big and the top pockets are plenty deep. With my hand in all the way, the top of the pocket goes past my wrist. It's as deep as the cargo pocket. Last, the quality of the buttons and zipper are definitely better on the Microtex than the Silent Weave. On the Silent Weave the quality reminds me of stuff we get in the military...loose extra threads, "ok" buttons, tough zipper, etc. Not on the Microtex. The quality is excellent!! Excellent product and great service from Cabelas!!

Best Pants ever
Date:
I bought a pair of these in 2002 and they are still going strong in 2012...no rips, tears, broken belt loops, failed zippers, missing buttons....nothing! I use them for all my whitetail hunts (bow/gun/mzldr), waterfowl, and spring turkey hunting, which has to add up to 50 days/yr in field, plus three elk hunts out West. They are really rugged wearing. Contrast this to a cotton pair of jeans that usually last half as long and wear through at thighs and knees and you'll soon understand you get your money's worth. They are a little warm in late spring, so the lighter Microtex pants would be better when its above 65-70F.
