Sitka has developed a system of hunting "gear" merging the latest technology together with a mountaineering philosophy. Sitka Gear is made to outperform ordinary hunting apparel. The advantages are in details like the use of stormproof zippers versus bulky storm flaps; durable, taped seams versus sewn seams; internal cuffs for heat retention and pockets you can use with a pack on. These garments eliminate bulk, decrease weight and increase packability, giving them an unfailing advantage in a wide range of hunting conditions. The versatile 90% Pants utilize a soft-shell fabric that provides all-around protection from the elements, extended breathability, abrasion resistance and stretch in a single layer. It’s windproof, has a Durable Waterproof Resistant finish to repel moisture and cut for full range of motion. Optifade™ camouflage from GORE is the first and only concealment system ever scientifically designed around the way a hunter’s prey views the world. It’s the only concealment system to combine a symmetry disrupting macro-pattern with the fractal-geometry-based micropattern designed to become nothing in the eyes of prey at engagement ranges of 20 meters and beyond. I purchased the Sitka 90% pants and jacket before my spring turkey hunt in Spokane WA. It was hard to spend that much money on something that will be used about 15 times a year but after spending a day crawling around muddy hills, rolling through brush and running 350 yards up hill (pit zips saved me) I will only purchase Sitka from now on. They are so comfortable, I wish I could wear them everyday without looking like an idiot :) It was low 30's and with some under armour base layers my body temperature was very comfortable all day. It was raining all day and I stayed dry even after laying in the mud/wet grass. I am 5' 10" 180 lbs. and I purchased a large jacket and large pants. The jacket fits great, the pants are a little loose but with base layer and belt they are very comfortable.

Great long term

About 4 years ago I bought a 90% jacket and the 90% pants. These are bar none the best all around hunting attire I have ever owned. They get heavy use 3 months of the year. They have no rips or tears, the zippers and snaps are in good shape. They have been washed more times than I can count. There is no fade in the pattern. They are still watter resistant like the day they were new. They are cool on a warm day, and warm on cool day. When you do need to layer up you dont feel like the Michelin Man. 90% of the days in the field you can't beat this gear. No, I don't work for, or have any ties to Sitka.

Not what you expect for the money...

I was sold that Sitka was the best gear out there, so I bought these pants and a Celsius jacket. I thought they would be the last hunting clothes i would need/want. The camo pattern is awesome, but the gear is horrible. I wore them elk hunting this year, the temps and weather was abnormal for september in wa, wet and cold. It didnt bother me because i had "Sitka". I could have worn jeans and a long sleeve shirt and been just as comfortable. Once these pants get wet, its over, i was soaked in 15 min of walking. They did not even begin to shed water, i could feel it come through with every step i took. I wrung the pants out at the truck and took them and the coat right back to Cabelas. I have never been so disappointed with hunting gear in my life. I will never purchase Sitka again. I suggest the cabelas dry plus, i bought that instead and it worked as promised.
