Sitka™ 90% Jacket

Sitka has developed a system of hunting "gear" merging the latest technology together with a mountaineering philosophy. Sitka Gear is made to outperform ordinary hunting apparel. The advantages are in details like the use of stormproof zippers versus bulky storm flaps; durable, taped seams versus sewn seams; internal cuffs for heat retention and pockets you can use with a pack on. These garments eliminate bulk, decrease weight and increase packability, giving them an unfailing advantage in a wide range of hunting conditions. The versatile 90% Jacket utilizes a soft-shell fabric that provides all-around protection from the elements, extended breathability, abrasion resistance and stretch in a single layer. It has a Durable Waterproof Resistant finish to repel moisture and cut for full range of motion. Optifade™ camouflage from GORE is the first and only concealment system ever scientifically designed around the way a hunter’s prey views the world. It’s the only concealment system to combine a symmetry disrupting macro-pattern with the fractal-geometry-based micropattern designed to become nothing in the eyes of prey at engagement ranges of 20 meters and beyond. Finally great hunting clothing

I wrote a review on the ascent pant as well. Bottom line, I find most hunting clothing second rate. I also fly fish and backpack and I am accustomed to the quality of Marmot, Patagonia and others. Sitka matches this quality in spades. Would wear it everyday and for all activites it is that good. I have worn this jacket on hunts to New Zealand and fishing trips to the Yellowstone backcountry and it was the perfect choice. One word of caution this is for active hunting and fishing. It is not heavy enough for still hunts.

90 % Jacket

I have had this jacket for about 10 months. I think i wore it everyday for about 5 of those months. Exceptional comfort and Quality. This is one jacket you can wear in cool mornings to warm afternoons and still be comfortable. I like the zip pockets and the zippers under the arm to cool you off when it is hot. Do not expect this jacket to keep you dry in medium to heavy rain. Great customer service also.

not water repellant

fit is good, plenty of mobility, but not even close to being water repellant. wore it in a light rain and I was soaked to my baselayer before I even got to the treestand.
