Fashion over Function
Date:
I purchased these gloves at the store because the fit was very nice and it looked like a lot of thought went into the design. They were with clothes designed by Sitka and I felt they would be performance gear made for the outdoors. They are form fitting, not tight, and attractive. The packaged stated they were warm. I put them on as I walked out the store and I should have followed my gut instinct and taken them right back. My hands were cold in them, much colder than anything else I have and they didn't warm up either. I hike quite a bit and usually end up taking my gloves off as my hands get warm. These make my hands colder. The fabric is showing wear also at the tips and I've hardly worn them. Only good for early fall or mid spring in Connecticut. I've never written a poor review, but these totally missed the mark. I would look at their merino gloves, the problem seems to be with the fabric they chose with these.

Strongly recommend against
Date:
If you need a midweight hunting glove I strongly recommend against this glove. I am very disappointed and definitely would not buy again. These gloves are very light weight and would be suitable as a warm weather bow hunting glove, not a midweight big game glove. They have a slippery finished outside with minimal gripper application on tips of thumb, index and middle finger only. Palm is slick and not a solid grip for carrying a rifle in the mountains. They are about the same thickness as a very lightweight liner glove. They would be midweight if you hunted in Florida only. They are very expensive for what they offer. If the rest of Sitka Gear's products are similar in design to these gloves they should consider changing their motto to "Turning hunting clothing into fashion." A warm weather hand covering they are. A mid weight hunting glove they are not. I guide during all 4 seasons in the Adirondacks of NY, hunt hard and use allot of gear through out the year. These gloves are not as advertised and not worth paying the postage again to send them back.

My Go To fall and winter gloves.
Date:
These are much warmer than I thought they would be. Being a bowhunter I don't like bulky gloves. These fit great. The softshell is flexible and repels water well. Good dexterity. I like them a lot better than the Under Armour gloves. I've warn them in freezing temps and been comfortable.
