My son and I have been using Danner boots for many years now. I hunted in Montana a few times and we do most of our hunting in PA. These boot do not need any break in period. They are very comfortable, warm and dry, also great on all types of terrain. In addition paired with Cabela's outfitter series heavyweight socks makes an unbeatable combination. Thanks Cabela's
This boot fits as listed. Very comfortable. Tread design is not best in the mud. Danner needs to put a pull loop on the back of the boot. Most other boots have this feature. Had a shoe repair shop put some on and now am satisfied although extra cost.
I have had two pairs of Pronghorns. The first pair leaked right out of the box, so I exchanged them. The second pair was a great boot for about the first year, then they started leaking just like the first pair did. The leak was not terrible at first, so I continued to use them for just my general purpose boots for another few months. They continued to leak worse and worse. A closer look at them revealed the soles were starting to separate from the boot. The boots themselves are very comfortable, probably the most comfortable boots I have ever owned, but they just don't hold up to hard hunting use for more than a year. They do appear to have been redesigned so it is possible the newer versions of this boot will hold up better.
These boots are great. Almost no break in period. Took them elk hunting in some nasty terrain and weather. 6 degrees and my feet never got cold. Only issue is that they do not have as good of traction in mud as they do snow. Other than that outstanding boot.
